Your inspection history

Your old reports shouldn't disappear with your old software

Horizon may be retiring, but your inspection history still matters.

Property Inspect can retain an accessible archive of your historical Horizon PDF reports so you can refer back to previous inspections when a client calls, a property returns or you simply need the original record.

Where required and technically available, report images can also be extracted from those PDFs for future use.

    FAQ

    Horizon migration FAQs

Why is Horizon inspection software closing?

Carson Dunlop has announced that Horizon will retire on December 15, 2026. Property Inspect is not affiliated with Carson Dunlop and cannot speak to their reasons. What matters for inspectors is that a replacement platform needs to be chosen and set up before that date.

    When does Horizon shut down?

Horizon is scheduled to retire on December 15, 2026. We recommend having your replacement platform live, and your historical reports exported, well before that date.

Do I have to move from Horizon to Spectora?

No. Carson Dunlop has selected Spectora as its recommended replacement for Horizon, but Horizon customers can choose another inspection software provider.

If Property Inspect is a better fit for your business, our team can help you plan and complete your migration before Horizon retires.

Can I move from Horizon to Property Inspect?

Yes. Property Inspect offers Horizon customers an assisted migration, managed by a named migration specialist, plus a 14-day free trial and an introductory price of $79/month for your first three paid months.

What Horizon data can Property Inspect migrate?

We rebuild your inspection templates (including multiple template structures), import your comment and narrative libraries, client contacts, agent contacts and upcoming bookings, recreate your company and report branding, and preserve an accessible archive of your historical Horizon report PDFs.

Can you migrate my historical inspection reports?

Yes. Your historical Horizon report PDFs are preserved in an easily accessible, searchable archive inside Property Inspect, so you can open the original document whenever a client calls or a property comes back.

Can you migrate my Horizon templates and comments?

Yes. We rebuild your Horizon templates in Property Inspect, preserving their structure, and import your comment and narrative libraries so the language you have refined over years comes with you.

What happens to photographs from old reports?

Your historical report PDFs, including their photographs, are preserved in your archive. Where technically possible, we can also use tooling to extract photographs from available report PDFs for future use. We will confirm what is achievable for your files during your migration review.

Will I still be able to access my old Horizon reports?

Yes. Once archived in Property Inspect, your historical Horizon reports remain accessible to you regardless of what happens to the Horizon platform.

Can you import my upcoming bookings?

Yes. Upcoming bookings are imported into Property Inspect as part of your migration so you do not miss a scheduled inspection during the switch.

How long does moving from Horizon take?

It depends on how many templates you use and how much history you have. Most migrations are prepared during your 14-day trial so your account is ready before you go live. Your migration specialist will agree a timeline with you upfront.

Can I try Property Inspect before migrating?

Yes. Start a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. We can prepare your migration during the trial so you are testing the platform with your own templates rather than generic ones.

How does the $79 Horizon offer work?

Horizon customers pay $79/month for their first three paid months, then $97/month on the Standard plan. The introductory period starts with your first paid month, not when your free trial begins. Claim the offer by December 1, 2026.

Does Property Inspect work in Canada?

Yes. Property Inspect is used by inspectors in Canada, and a Canadian-dollar equivalent of the Horizon offer is available to Canadian Horizon customers.

    Does Property Inspect work offline?

Yes. The Property Inspect mobile app lets you capture findings, photographs and notes without a connection and syncs when you are back online.

Can I use Property Inspect with multiple inspectors?

Yes. Property Inspect supports multi-inspector firms, with shared templates, scheduling and team activity in one account.
